Re: Finally had it with Pyro.
Peter, due to my past line of work. I am not permitted to leave the US. I am confined to border cities in Mexico or Canada. I requested permission to go to England, and I am awaiting a reply. With the world being as it is, they may refuse me. I assured them that there is nothing in my head, that any...

Re: Anyone tried the new 'Promicrol'?
Liquid Nitrogen is the best. It will not allow the product to change states, once frozen. You keep it (the glycin)in a thermos, at 240 K degrees, if you place it in your freezer. Most home freezers is limited to -15 F degrees. Obtain a metal thermos, and take it a part. Place the glycin in the inner...

Re: Finally had it with Pyro.
Lowell, I am well aware of Issac Asimov, a fellow Sci-Fi nut and fellow Jew. I went to New York to speak with him after his divorce in 1973 or 74. And we said a lot to each other at a university get together. But he was a real loner, and after the war, he did very little work in his field. He was lo...

DK-50 and DK-60a, are no longer in production. Kodak ended their production in or around the same time that they ended Microdol-X.
My error, Formulary makes their copy of DK-50.
Thank You

Need help on rebuilding a Prontor SV shutter on a Ikoflex 1a
I was fooled into obtaining a Ikoflex 1a, and when it arrived, the shutter was broken. I have taken it apart, but I find myself stuck and have no idea how to proceed. I would have returned the camera, but return shipping would have cost nearly $20.00 dollar. Even if I got the cost of the camera back...

Need help on rebuilding Prontor SVS shutter
I ended up buying 4 used Ansco Super Memar Rangefinder cameras off of E-bay. I am sorry, I got hooked into a penny bidding war, and lost control. I purchase all four cameras for less than $10.00 dollars each, but the shipping..., that is a killer. Of the four cameras, three are working just fine. It...

Re: Finally had it with Pyro.
Gary: I review your photos posted on Flick and there are many that you have done in PMK, that have came out in good condition. Could it be that you are not staying consistent, in your development skills? You must set up a routine and keep good notes on your development habits, to make good compariso...

Re: Anyone tried the new 'Promicrol'?
Yes, that is true. But here is the 411 on Glycin. Do not order Glycin in the summer or warm months, because it get beat hard with the heat during shipment. Order it in the cold months, and once it arrives, place it in the freezer.

Re: Finally had it with Pyro.
Sorry to hear about your failures. It seems that you use pre-mixed developers. Maybe you should try to mix your own and you may find what you are looking for.
Do you do large format and roll film, or just large format?

Re: Anyone tried the new 'Promicrol'?
Ian: I can not import the chemical, because I do not have a "hazardous material import/export license". There must be a secure chain of custody for receiving and handling the medically toxic item. The only way that I can get it, is to hire a company to receive it and transport it, via the FDA guide ...

Re: Anyone tried the new 'Promicrol'?
Ian: I have seen the formula, in fact I believe it is on Flicka. I will have to check, then sit back and try to remember what group it was on. I do not know if you can ship it here now that I think about it, but I am willing to trade you 50 grams of Glycin for 20 grams of your stuff. I will check in...

I got funds to blow. Where are you, and can you ship to the US, if you are outside of the States?
And this is the real deal, and not fraud. Correct. Because I have an endless supply of Glycin.
Thank You

Re: Which "Salt or Pot ash" to use
Keith, I am impressed by Damon's work, for a person who has not been at this for very long. His use of technical pan and forma 200 with PMK, is good work. And even more so with his floral pictures. Lowell, thanks for the information on the preservatives. I was thinking of conducting tests with all o...

Re: Which "Salt or Pot ash" to use
My friend Damon got me into testing Pyro when he sent me copies of his photos, and I told him that I would start testing with it.
