Re: A lil help. 'Cause I'm awesome! (fp4+ development)

Hey-o, I used to shoot NPS160 (160s) at night. Good fun times!!! (http://anti-aesthetic.net). When I did that, to save some of the detail in the highlights, I'd make 2 exposures and sew them together in photoshop. I'm really interested in doing similar work but with b/w film. And since I finally go...

Re: Lesser-known Kodak formulae

Hello. I'm a newcomer to these forums, after lurking a while. I have noted that your database of Kodak chemicals is somewhat incomplete, for instance, DK-15 is not present, nor is D-82. I am working on a project to digitize the formulae for these older, yet very robust and reliable developers. Also...

Re: What are the characteristics of developers? What to choo

Hi There, What are the characteristics of the different types of developpers? Why would one choose the one above the other. And how to decide what dilution is best? Any suggestions for great websites, perhaps? I am trying to find my way through the vast world of filmdeveloping! Mike There are proba...

There are various types of developers. There are very small differences amongst the most popular types.

None of this has anything whatsoever to do with the poster's question. He is asking about DEVELOPERS.

So you can not push APX100 two stops? Not that I wanted to push it that far, but it happened: Damned, I should have checked the old setting before exposing a complete roll of film. You cannot push any film, ever. It's of no use. The film crystals need a certain level of exposure. If they are undere...

Re: Time for AgfA APX 100 at 400 using Rodinal or Studional?

Hi There, I have used an Agfa Agfapan APX 100 film and used it at speed 400. I want to develop it using Rodinal or Studional. In the Dev Chart there is no time given for this combination. Does anyone have a suggestion for the development time for normal contrast? Thus the combination is: AgfA APX 1...

Re: Delta 3200 ASA rating: 1250?

I have read that Delta 3200 has an ASA rating of 1250. Does this mean that in order to achieve 3200 ASA I need to push the film that extra stop and a half? Can anyone give me a description of their results in shooting Delta 3200 developing with the recommended time as well as developing with a 1-2 ...

Use stop bath, and rapid fixer with hardener.

Re: still educating Orny

If you think you can defy the laws of physics, go right ahead and believe that. I'll be watching when you crash into the Earth. You're saying it's impossible, and I'm saying I do it all the time; what more is there to say? Jay You can 'do' it, but the results won't be good. Stand development is sui...

Re: still educating Orny

Mike, do you want to talk about MQ/PQ developers, or developers suitable for stand development in tanks and tubes? All developers are not MQ/PQ, and not all developers are compatible with all forms of agiitation. My results are not affected by your flat lying plate mantra. How persuasive do you thi...

Re: Educating Orny

Agitation is not dependent on the type of developer. Yes, it is. You said so yourself: Reducing the ph of any developer will reduce its rate of development, and consequently reduce the rate of agitation needed....... Some developers, like PMK, require near-constant agitation, while others, like GSD...

Re: agitation

Reducing the ph of any developer will reduce its rate of development, and consequently reduce the rate of agitation needed somewhat, but agitation of some sort is definitely needed with roll film in tanks. There is no getting around the need for agitation, period. You cannot dispense with agitation...
