Blue color tinges on edges of Ektar 100 w/ 120mm

Post by brianentz »

Just processed my first C41 and I am finding what is definately a blue tinge on the left and right edges of the film. About 1/5 to 1/4 of the edges. It's graduated in and then becomes normal. The film is Ektar 100 in 120mm. Could I have somehow exposed the film while it was still rolled? Or is it more likely a matter of poor agitation? I'm using steel reels and inversion tanks. Should I try agitating more or less? Examples attached. Any ideas?

What are the other parameters you are using? Time? Temperature? How often and how long is your agitation technique? This isn't exposure while the film was rolled, that would add density to your negs and while you might experience a colour shift, the edges would not be darker as a result.
