Query: Increase of Developer Activity

Post by pentaxpete »

I think it's a well known fact that ID11 increases its activity on standing for a long time without being used, but I think I have the same effect with a batch of Crawley Formula FX4 I made up to the formula. A fresh FP4+ I did at 1+ 1 dilution came out over developed, then I have done an outdated (1995) Kodak TMax 100 rollfim for 81/2 mins at 20oC and THAT came out over as well; I didn't give any extra exposure due to age of the film as I do with outdated 400 ASA types as I find it maintains its spreed, but the negs were dense. Have any of you had experience of this activity increase? Thanks........Peter.
Got COMPUTERISED and 'slightly Digitised Pentax K10D' but FILM STILL RULES !
