Post by Jack »

I have a customer who brougt in a roll of 620 b/w for processing. I have no clue what asa the film is or how to process it. All it says on the film is Kodak Super-xx. Has anyone out there seen this stuff before? Can you tell me how to process it? Thanks

Try Michael and Paula's site. They have good information about several old emulsions:

Super XX film

Post by pentaxpete »

I used Super xx film in the late 1950's. I had an Ikoflex 120 rollfilm camera at the time. Now it is so badly outdated you will have to think what to do as the latent image must have faded and the fog level increased. It has been written somewhere that Kodak DK50 developer undiluted for 12 minutes at 68oC gives good results on old films. The alkali in DK50 is Sodium Metaborate, not so strong as the Carbonate and similar to the borax used in D76 formula. It should suit the older thicker emulsions better. I think I am right about this.
Got COMPUTERISED and 'slightly Digitised Pentax K10D' but FILM STILL RULES !
