Shooting with flash: Best to shoot at true iso?
If all films tend to work better when exposure is increased and development decreased does that also hold true when using flash?
Re: Shooting with flash: Best to shoot at true iso?
Are we discussing B&W? With ordinary flashes, yes no change is necessary from normal exposure and development. By 'normal', I mean, of course, 2/3 of ISO and 2/3 of recommended development.kcf wrote:If all films tend to work better when exposure is increased and development decreased does that also hold true when using flash?
If you're using color negative film, just be sure not to underexpose.

Whatever you do please TEST your flash gun as I find not all are accurate, even ones of the same make. I have three METZ 45's, two 45CT1 and one 45CL3 and one of the 45CT1 I was given needs the film to be rated at half the ASA (ISO) . Also, the 45CL3 seems to need one half stop more to get a decent density on the negative but is accurate for slide film . Some FILMS are not up to their rated speed either !
Got COMPUTERISED and 'slightly Digitised Pentax K10D' but FILM STILL RULES !
