Pushing Delta 3200

Yesterday I shot Ilford Delta 3200 at 800 asa. I want to develop the film, but I am unsure about how to do it. I Have the developer FX-39, and according to the Massive Dev - app, it is not possible to develop an Ilford Delta 3200 shot at 800 asa with FX-39. The developer FX-39 (in this case), can just push 3200 asa to 1600. What shall I do? I have no access to another developer, but I do not want to take a chance.

I appreciate all ansvers. Thank you.

Although there is no published data for Delta 3200 in FX-39, you can extrapolate a time from the existing data and this will provide a starting point. You will then need to perform your own tests to determine the best time. There is no way to develop your film in these circumstances without "taking a chance". Based on the time listed for 1600 ISO of 9 minutes at 1+5, a good starting point might be 7 minutes at this dilution

However; if you look more closely at the Massive Dev Chart you will see that there is a link to "Notes" in the column next to the data for Delta 3200 in FX-39. If you follow the link to alternative data it will take you to times provided by Michael Scarpitti who has done his own testing of Paterson developers and provides separate recommendations:

Michael Scarpitti has tested a time of 10 minutes for Delta 3200 at 800 ISO in FX-39 at 1+14 dilution. Although this recommendation has been verified, it is still only a starting point and results are not guaranteed.

The true ISO of that film is 1000. 800 is essentially the same. It is not clear from your question why you are referring to this as 'pushing'.

What country are you in? Where did you get the FX-39?

I am norwegian, and I got the FX-39 from the local photography-shop "Fotoimport". Maybe "Pushing" not was the right word, but I got the answer I needed, so tomorrow I am going to develop the film. Why do you ask?

Because the developer is no longer available in the USA.

You had some 'Heavy Water' once in your country made by the Germans -- if you get it out of the lake where it was sunk I bet you could use that to develop your film !

The 'Delta 3200' artefact is not absolutely rated at ISO 3200/36°. Its acceleration is alone ISO 1000/31° but it has a actual advanced acknowledgment latitude. Thus it can be auspiciously advance candy to EI 3200 or alike higher littlelioness. Delta 3200 was alien in 1998, 10 years afterwards Kodak's agnate T-MAX P3200. It replaced Ilford's aerial acceleration 'HPS' film. :)
